I have found there are many advantages to living in a sleepy town.Wide open beaches and non pretentious local folk make miss dida.+ smile and of course the fact that it feels like Ive time traveled back to 1979!

A certain old world charm still lingers about this place and miss dida.+ feels as if shes discovered the secret granny cupboard treasure cove!!!
Miss dida.+ found these two wonderful gems selling secondhand vintage clothes with a bonus doubledida.+ points for supporting animals!!!:)

Miss dida.+'s first stop was "Fur on Fifth" , nothing to worry bout they support animal welfare and there was definitely no fur on sale to be seen! 

This adorable store has little gems hidden everywhere but make sure you go with your sifting boots on.....The store is on fifth avenue, Newton Park, If you want to support this charity store please contact (Sonet) on 0820721068 she also has addorable kittens who need homes!!!

The next stop was "The bargain box" watch out these sales ladies mean business!!:) I found some incredible collectors pieces for a steal!!! Situated on Walmer main road this store is definitely worth a squizz:)

While sniffing out the latest on the Art scene I stumbled onto Demelza Bush's photo essay Waiting  ,it portrays the life story of an ex prison warder from Robben island and is a touching reflection on the slow but sure changes in today's South African society def worth a CHECK OUT!

And in keeping with my up and coming trip to Berlin I discovered that the very talented illustrator Olaf Hajek will be showing his first solo exhibition in Cape Town! Also definitaly worth a CHECK OUT!

As Autumn slowly creeps over this southern tip of our continent......

and summer begins above, we slowly creep into my favorite season. Autumn brings with it an electric fuzz that warms my soul.......dreamy sepia colours flap gently in the breeze and as the transition begins we are reminded of the enjoyable cuddliness of winter:))

Living in a sleepy Port in Africa can have its drawbacks to starting something new..It seems that much more challenging to draw inspiration from a place which lacks exactly that......like a seedling that never reached its full potential this town is in dire need of a severe gust of freshness!!!!

And so on her travels miss dida.+ realizes the ultimate challenge ! To be completely out of your element yet

still remain true to oneself  and still keep the creative life force well nourished.

Beards, a phenomena?

I have recently noted that beards are distinctively on the trend rise .So what exactly  is all the fuss about anyway?
Why is it that it conjures up ideas of a time where men wore gladiators and people got their heads chopped off? Oh yes, that still happens today.
Nevertheless miss dida.+ says there is definitely something to be said about a man and his manly beard!
